J.Jill has a new collection of great summer pieces with colors from the seashore and ocean. Gorgeous blues, teals, greens, and sand colors, along with fresh white and, of course, comfy denim pieces. I popped in for a small try-on last week and went back yesterday to shop for međ. Letâs get to it and look at J.Jill Summer 2025 New Arrivals along with a few styling ideas to get your creativity going.

If youâre new here, a try-on is just me heading into a store to style pieces from their latest collection so you can see how they look on a woman over 50, not a 20-something model. I share fit notes, sizing tips, and how I might wear them. For reference, Iâm 5â4â with broad shoulders and straight hips, and I wear both petite and regular sizes. J. Jill carries sizes XSâ4X in regular, petite, and some tall. You can see some of my other dressing room try-ons here.

I spotted this long gauze shirt dress in the store window, styled open over pants and could not resist trying it on. Iâve always been a fan of items that can be worn in multiple ways, and this shirtdress definitely qualifies. Itâs available in 3 colors. It would be great worn closed as a dress, and you could belt it to add some shaping or just for super hot weather. This would also work as a bathing suit cover-upâŚyour options are limitless.
Iâm styling it over this cotton gauze tank in the same aqua shade. The tank comes in 3 colors plus navy & white stripes. The length is perfect to wear untucked, which always feels so comfy in warm weather.
Iâm wearing those with the slim-ankle jeans in bright white, but the combo would also look good over these pull-on gauze pants or blue denim. These jeans also come in black, but for summer, itâs hard to go wrong with white. Theyâre a very soft cotton blend with spandex that feels very comfy to move around in. This layered shell necklace would be a fun accessory that continues the sea theme, and this boho-inspired necklace has beads reminiscent of seaglass.

This linen shirt is one of those pieces that work overtime in your wardrobe. It comes in 8 gorgeous colors. I tried it in the medium petite, and it fits loosely without looking oversized. You could wear it open as a lightweight layer over tanks and tees or buttoned and half-tucked into jeans for a relaxed, effortless look. It comes in this pretty sky blue as well as a warm neutral.
The reversible tank underneath gives you two neckline options, a scoop or a V-neck, which is a brilliant little detail. I accidentally grabbed the small and wouldâve preferred the medium for a less fitted look. Itâs available in 10 colors to layer under everything.
These relaxed pull-on jeans are a recycled cotton, breathable and incredibly soft. They have an elasticized waistband, which doesnât look funky, and faux fly, which gives you the look of regular jeans with more comfort. Style them with sandals now and a lightweight sneaker or espadrille later.

Iâm always drawn to easy cotton dresses for summer, and this one checks all the boxes: lightweight, breezy, and simple to wear. It hits just above the ankle, has a subtle A-line shape, and with side slits for ease of movement. They show it styled with this seed necklace which looks perfect. This would also pack like a dream for summer travel without the wrinkle âissueâ that linen has. Yes, this was the dress I went back to buy for my summer wardrobe.
Summer Tops to Wear Now
This striped cotton sweater is perfect for cool mornings or evenings and has a great summer vibe. It has a slightly boxy fit thatâs not too bulky, and the stripes along with three metal eyelets on side, give it a nautical vibe. Pair it with white jeans or shorts and slip-on sneakers for a look that feels pulled together but not fussy.
A good tunic can be a wardrobe hero, and this gauze version is easy to dress up or down. Itâs made with 100% organic cotton and comes in 3 colors. Wear it loose over slim white pants and add a long pendant necklace, or give it a front tuck into shorts. The breathable fabric makes it ideal for warm, humid days.
Easy Summer Shorts With Style
These fun printed shorts add a little personality without being loud. Theyâre a lightweight cotton with a paperbag waist and self tie. Add silver jewelry and a straw tote, and a big hat to be ready for a warm-weather outing that doesnât involve sacrificing comfort.
The paper bag waist gives these tie-waist shorts a fresh, feminine shape while the soft tencel keeps them feeling elevated. Tuck in a fitted tee or the reversible tank to define your waist, or layer with a lightweight blouse for a breezier feel.
If you prefer longer shorts for more coverage, these thigh length patch pocket shorts are a great option. Theyâre a cotton/lyocel/spandex blends that hits just above the knee and have utility-inspired patch pockets that give them a more modern edge. Style with a linen button-up and leather slides, or pair with a striped tee and denim jacket for a coastal look. These come in 2 colors.
Dresses That Work for Every Summer Occasion
This printed splitneck dress is a no-brainer for hot days when you still want to look pulled together. The palm/fan print looks fresh without being overpowering, and the dress hits at a flattering spot just above the knees. Itâs fully lined with on-seam pockets, which I know so many of you love as much as I do. Add a belt if you want to define the waist, or wear it loose with flat sandals, and a white bucket hat for weekend ease.
This Nomad tiered dress is a statement making dress in fresh shades of green with white. Itâs straps are bra friendly and the maxi makes it wearable for so many occasions. Style it simply with hoop earrings and strappy sandals, or throw on a denim jacket and a stack of festive bracelets for some extra oomph.
This cap sleeve maxi dress is the kind of item that makes summer dressing easy. The cap sleeves give a bit of shoulder coverage, and the optional tie belt with tassel and beads at the end, lets you play with the shape. I could see this with silver jewelry and simple sandals for dinner out, or tossed over a swimsuit for a poolside lunch.
